PAPPAS, Ruth (Climan) Ruth (Climan) Pappas, 80, of Clearwater, FL and formerly of Enfield, beloved wife for 58 years of the late Philip Stanley Pappas, passed away peacefully on Friday, (December 25, 2009) in Florida. Born in Hartford on September 28, 1929, daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Keyser) Climan, she had lived in Enfield for many years before moving to Florida in 1977. Ruth worked as an accountant and retired from Lucent Technologies. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star in Tampa, FL and The Ladies Oriental Shrine of Tampa, FL. An active member of the community she lived in, Ruth also belonged to the Clearview Lake Estates Community Association in Clearwater, FL. She leaves a daughter, Gail Elston of Newington; a brother, Martin Climan and his wife Hilda of West Hartford; and a sister, Eddie Handleman of Massachusetts. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Mark Pappas; and two brothers, Sol Climan and Lawrence Climan. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2 p.m., in the Chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will follow in Beth Jacob Cemetery, West Hartford.
