I received a card (in Spanish) from Luis Garcia's daughter in Puerto Rico. Luis was the plant manager for the
Puerto Rican Plant in Ponce. I had traded Christmas cards with Luis since we closed the plant in the 80's.
She indicated that Luis had passed away on December 19th due to a bone marrow infection caused by
diabetes. He was not in pain, and his family was around him.
Luis was a gentleman, and a "character" in the most positive sense. He was one of those people you meet in life that make an indelible
impression.He will be missed.
I remember going down to Ponce to help get Production Control set-up for Luis. We had dinner on a
couple of occassions. He was quite the "character" as Ed said. This is truly sad news.
